Wren has worked in the avalanche industry for over 30 years and has been a CAA Professional Member since 2001. Wren has worked in many areas of the industry including ski patrol, resource and mining, education, transportation and guiding. Her skill set specializes in risk management, hazard mitigation, worker safety, explosive avalanche control, and program management. Wren has been a CAA Industry Training Program Instructor since 2006 and is a member of the SFU SARP (Avalanche Research Program Industry Steering Committee) and the TARP Program (Transportation Avalanche Research Pool). Wren is currently the District Avalanche Supervisor of the North Cascades Avalanche Program for the Ministry of Transportation and Transit. 

Brad White is a fully-certified IFMGA / ACMG Mountain Guide with over 40 years of experience in the avalanche and mountain safety industry. He recently retired from a career with Parks Canada as a Visitor Safety Specialist with responsibilities for mountain rescue and avalanche forecasting in Banff, Kootenay and Yoho National Parks. Brad is a senior professional member of the Canadian Avalanche Association and has taught over 60 avalanche courses in Canada as well as Japan, Russia, Alaska and Sweden. He has worked on many of the initiatives and committees that have been instrumental in developing the latest best practices for avalanche forecasting, hazard classification and public bulletins. He is also a past ski guide examiner for t he Association of Canadian Mountain Guides.Having grown up in Banff in a ski industry family, Brad has been skiing since he was two years old. At age 23, he received his first certification with the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides and began heli-ski guiding in the winters while working as a Park Warden in the summers. A fully certified Mountain Guide since 1989, he has guided in almost every major ski region in Canada and throughout the world. He presently works as an avalanche and mountain safety consultant year-round, as well as continuing to ski guide in the winters.

Tyler Carson is an Avalanche Professional and the current Snow Safety Supervisor at Fernie Alpine Resort and has been patrolling for 21 seasons. He is the current secretary/treasurer of the Elk Valley Snow and Avalanche Workshop society. In the off season he is a retired fishing guide and almost full time first aid instructor who is just starting to learn that denial isn’t just a river in Africa.

I have been a professional member of the CAA and ACMG since 1997. I have worked in the industry for many guiding operations over the years. I have taught AST courses since 1999 and ITP courses since 2023. I am currently the Chairperson for the CAA membership committee, previously the vice chairperson. I was also on the board of the ACMG for a year.

Mark is an avalanche technician and ski guide, currently working primarily in the industrial sector.  Member of the Canadian Avalanche Association, Avalanche Professional since 2003. Member of the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides,  Ski Guide since 2012.  Work experience in lift access ski areas, ski guiding, industrial work sites and education.

Erin has been a professional ski patroller since 2012, and has been a Practicing Member of the CAA since 2023. She grew up skiing in the West Kootenays, and early on discovered a passion for being out in the mountains in all conditions. This tolerance for foul weather prepared her well for the work of ski patrolling! She has also worked as a kayak guide, first aid instructor, and sound recording engineer.

In her current position as a patrol team lead at Whistler Blackcomb, she conducts Technical Reviews, is a Search Coordinator, and supports her peers as a CISM/Resiliency team member. She has also participated in the WB forecasting mentorship program for the past two seasons.

Jerry Isaak is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Adventure Studies Department at Thompson Rivers University where he serves as faculty lead for Ski Touring & Avalanche Education. He is an Advanced Avalanche Educator member of the CAA and a Ski Guide and Professional Member of the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides.

He has instructed a wide range of campus and field-based courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level. His primary teaching experience is in the areas of expedition planning and leadership, expedition history and culture, rock and ice climbing, backcountry ski touring, and avalanche education.

Michelle is a locomotive engineer with CN, operating in northern British Columbia for the past decade. She brings a strong commitment to safety, contributing reports to the Teamsters Canada local Joint Safety Committee and actively engaging in safety initiatives. Before her railroad career, she spent 15 years as a social worker in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Based in Smithers, BC, located on the unceded traditional territory of the Wet’suwet’en people and the Gidimt’en Clan, she is a member of Bulkley Valley Search and Rescue. She spends her winters ice climbing and ski touring, and her summers in the backcountry with her mule and horses.
