The CAA works to ensure Canadians have the highest confidence in the avalanche safety programs and services delivered by CAA members. We strive to ensure our diverse membership meets our professional standards and follows best practices. We protect the public interest by ensuring members follow the CAA’s Code of Ethics. A complaints process is available to the public if it is believed that members have failed their ethical obligations.
Discipline and Enforcement
The association enforces standards of conduct and investigates when a member has fallen below those standards.
Complaints Against Members
The association investigates complaints against members for failure to meet their professional and ethical obligations.

Continuing Professional Development
Practice standards for avalanche work change. CAA members are required to actively participate in continuing education to remain competent and current throughout their careers in their chosen fields of practice.
InfoEx
The CAA’s InfoEx is a daily exchange of technical snow, weather, avalanche and terrain information between professional operations. InfoEx enables professional operations to greatly improve their understanding of the geospatial distribution of avalanche, weather and snowpack data. This allows more accurate forecasting and improved avalanche risk management.
InfoEx is a key source of data used by Avalanche Canada to produce its public avalanche bulletins.
